SING-A-THON Frequently Asked Questions

I'M NOT SURE I CAN FUNDRAISE, WHAT DO I DO?

Asking for money isn't something most people are comfortable doing, but when your friends and loved ones learn about the fun you're having and the good you're doing for our community, they will want to support you. You're likely to find that fundraising is easier than you think, and we are happy to help you along the way. When you register, you will get your own participant page that you can personalize and use built-in tools to ask others to join you or donate to support you. You can link your social media accounts to make it easier to fundraise, spread the word and invite others. Be sure to do this because it makes it easier, PLUS you'll earn more points for social media sharing. If you're feeling nervous about fundraising, we are here for you. DO I HAVE TO FUNDRAISE TO BE ABLE TO PARTICIPATE?

No, you are not required to fundraise to participate, but the more you fundraise the more points you'll earn towards cool prizes and the more you'll help your team and our mission. If you raise at least $25, you'll get the official cap. 

ARE DONATIONS TAX DEDUCTIBLE AND WHAT IS YOUR TAX ID?

Yes, donations are tax deductible. Our tax ID is 35-1690755.

HOW DO DONORS RECEIVE THEIR DONATION RECEIPTS?

When a donor donates online, they will see a donation complete page after submitting their donation that they may print. They will also receive a donation receipt email.

When a donor makes a cash or check donation to a participant, they will receive a donation receipt email if the participant enters the donor's name and email address.

HOW DO I START OR JOIN A TEAM?

From the Manage my Page view of your participant page, you can click on the menu option to join a team, and you'll land on a screen to start or join a team. If you need help with this, contact us at skillen@icchoir.org, and we can make adjustments for you.

HOW DO I SIGN-UP TO PERFORM?

During the registration process, you will be asked if you want to perform as a soloist, as a group or part of the mass choir experience. After you register, you will be contacted to select a specific time. You can also ask any questions you have at that time.

HOW DO I SWITCH TEAMS?

Contact us at skillen@icchoir.org, and we can make the adjustment for you.

CAN I TRANSFER A DONATION THAT I RECEIVED TO ANOTHER PARTICIPANT OR TEAM?

Yes, contact us at skillen@icchoir.org to request the donation be credited to another participant or team.

WHO SHOULD CHECKS BE MADE PAYABLE TO?

Please make checks payable to the Indianapolis Children's Choir

WHAT DO I DO WITH CASH AND CHECK DONATIONS I RECEIVE?

Cash and check donations you receive may be entered individually in the fundraising section of your participant page and will credit your fundraising total immediately. Log into the site, then hover over your name in the top right and click on ‘Manage my Page.’ Click on the fundraising section and go to the “Cash and Checks” tab to enter your cash and check donations. You’ll see detailed instructions there (also listed below).

For cash donations or checks made out to you personally:
You may enter each cash donation separately with the donor’s name, email and address so that they each receive a donation receipt. You can then process all cash donations to your credit card and keep the cash. You will receive a payment receipt email to confirm the donations you process on your credit card. Remember, if you receive checks made out to you personally, rather than to the organization, you treat these as cash donations.

For check donations made out to our organization:

You may enter each check donation separately with the donor’s name, email and address so that they each receive a donation receipt. You then mail the checks to us at:
