What is Play It Forward?

Play It Forward, powered by National Bank, is an active and social (distanced) way for you, your family, friends, and colleagues to connect for a fun and friendly virtual competition that will help raise awareness and funds in support of Right To Play. Double your impact as National Bank will match your donation dollar for dollar up to $25,000.

From May 10 - 17, Right To Play - with help from some of our athlete and celebrity friends - will issue daily challenges for you to complete at home. Post your efforts online to win points towards one of our top prizes and ultimate bragging rights. To boost the spirit of competition, your points haul, and your impact, we're also challenging participants to raise money, so together we can keep children healthy and safe, learning, and mentally strong through the pandemic and beyond.

Why Should I Play It Forward?

COVID-19 has affected us all, but in many cases it's children who have been hardest hit.

Children around the world are facing unprecedented crises as the global pandemic exacerbates inequality, discrimination, and the effects of disasters and war. Ongoing disruptions to education have put 11 million girls at risk of never returning to school and placed millions under greater threat of child marriage, early pregnancy and gender-based violence. The effects of a global recession have also forced 8 million more young people into child labour. In Canada, systemic issues faced by Indigenous youth, such as poor access to health services, safe housing and clean water are only worsened by COVID-19.

Still, resilient young people around the world continue to stand up to these challenges and they need our support.

United by the pandemic, now is your chance to harness your time spent at home and Play It Forward to help children worldwide rise above.

Why Should I Fundraise?

For 20 years, we’ve used the power of play in its various forms—sport, games, creative and free play—to protect, educate, and empower. But the pandemic has been a difficult time for charities too, and now more than ever, we need your support to ensure that we can continue to deliver impactful programming to some of the world’s most vulnerable children. Active in 15 countries, including in partnership with more than 70 Indigenous communities across Canada, last year we expanded and adjusted our work to reach 11.2 million children through regular, remote, and COVID-19-adapted programs

We need your support to keep the impact going and growing. Join Play It Forward, so together we can keep children healthy and safe, learning, and mentally strong through the pandemic and beyond.
