2022 United In Epilepsy Golf Endurance Challenge

How many rounds of golf will we play?

Everyone will play three rounds plus on extra hole for a total of 55 holes of golf, honoring the 55,000+ Minnesotans living with epilepsy. Play will begin with a shotgun start starting at 7:00 am. A full schedule for the day is available here.

Who can participate?

Anyone! All are welcome to join us for the United In Epilepsy Golf Endurance Challenge, though a love of golf is highly recommended — we'll be playing 55 holes after all! Registration is $250, and each participant is expected to fundraise $2,500 to support the epilepsy community through EFMN's programs and services.

Will the range be open before tee off?

Yes. Registration begins at 6:00 am, and the range will open at 6:30 am to allow you to warm-up before the shotgun start at 7:00 am. You can find a full schedule for the day here.

Will food and beverages be provided?

Yes, food and drink for the full day will be provided as a part of your registration fee. Breakfast and coffee will be offered on the course during our first round of golf. Lunch will be provided during the second round, and happy hour drinks and snacks during the third. We will end the day with cocktails and passed appetizers overlooking the 18th green.

Is there a registration fee to participate?

Registration is $250 per participant for the United In Epilepsy Golf Endurance Challenge. This includes course fees as well as all food and beverage for the day.

Your registration ensures that every dollar raised in the Golf Endurance Challenge directly supports EFMN's programs and the epilepsy community in Minnesota.​

Can I register my team mates?

Yes! After entering your information on the registration form, you will have the option to "Add A Registration". There, you can enter all teammates who will be joining you on the course.

Name and email address are required for each additional registration, and you will be charged for each participant's registration fee.

How can I customize my page?

To customize your team and individual pages for the United In Epilepsy Golf Endurance Challenge, select "Manage my page" from the dropdown menu at the top right. From there you can manage both your team page and your individual page, as well as setup a Facebook Fundraiser and recruit family and friends to join you.

On your team page, you have the opportunity to share why you are participating, edit your team name and fundraising goal, and to add a photo — this could be a photo of your team, or some you are honoring or memorializing with your fundraising, or anything else that represents why you are participating.

Your individual page also gives you the opportunity to share why you are participating and manage your personal fundraising goal.

How can I invite others to join my team?

From your dashboard (accessed by clicking "Manage My Page" under the dropdown menu at the top right), you can "Invite friends to join you". There, you can find sample emails, texts, and social media posts to use to invite additional teammates to join you.


Fundraising

Do I have to fundraise?

Each participant in the United In Epilepsy Golf Endurance Challenge is expected to raise $2,500 to support the epilepsy community in Minnesota through EFMNs programs and services. Every dollar raised provides resources and support that enable people with epilepsy to manage their seizures and lead safe, connected, and empowered lives.

How do I start fundraising?

The best fundraising efforts start by sharing your personal story about why you're participating. You can share your story on your personal fundraising page by logging in to your Fundraising Dashboard and select "Set up your page" from the dropdown menu. Once your page is updated, share it with friends, family, and coworkers via email, social networking, and word of mouth.

What happens to the money raised at the United In Epilepsy Golf Endurance Challenge?

Donations are used to support the programs and services of the Epilepsy Foundation of Minnesota, including Seizure Smart Trainings, Connect Groups, and Camp Programs within our local communities across Minnesota and the Fargo-Moorhead area. 

How do I enter in a cash or check donation or employer's match?

You can add offline donations on the Manage my page option under My Page. 

Step 1: Click on the Raise at least $2,500 tab on the left-hand navigation bar.

Step 2: Click on the Enter Cash/Checks tab. 

Step 3: Click on Enter A Cash or Check Donation button.

Step 4: Fill out the New Cash/Check Gift form.

Note: For an employer match, list the Donor Name as “[Company Name] Match.”

How come I see an option to Pay for Cash Donation Collected button?

To make collecting cash donations easy and before the walks, you are able to pay for cash donations using your own credit card. This way, you will be able to keep the cash. 

Can I give you cash on the day the golf challenge instead of paying with my credit card?

Yes! If you choose to bring the cash with you on the day, you can skip the Pay for Cash Donation Collected button.

What if my company is matching my donation and other colleague's donations? Will the donations show up together? 

If you and your colleagues list the same Donor Name when recording your employer's match using the New Cash/Check Gift form, those donations will be grouped together. Communicate with your colleagues to make sure you are all using the same name (we recommend "[Company Name] Match").

Can I set up a fundraiser on Facebook?

Yes! After you register, you will see “Create a Facebook Fundraiser” on the left-hand menu. Name your fundraiser, enter in a description, set a goal, and then follow the steps to connect your Facebook account to your Walk page.

How can I invite people to donate to my team?

From your dashboard (accessed by clicking "Manage My Page" under the dropdown menu at the top right), you can invite can invite friends and family to donate via the "Raise at least $2,500" section. From there, select the tab "Ask Your Friends". That page provides sample emails, texts, and social media posts to use to invite your friends, family, and neighbors to contribute.
