Run, Walk & Roll-Geneva 2023

Thank you for choosing to volunteer with Marklund in our 11th Annual Run, Walk & Roll- Geneva 5K/1Mile event! We are thrilled to have you join us at the Marklund Hyde Center in Geneva on Sunday, October 15th!

Online registration is currently OPEN. We do except walk-ins on event day at the volunteer check-in time below.

Marklund Hyde Center: 1S450 Wyatt Dr, Geneva, IL 60134

​Check-In/Time:

Volunteer Tent at Marklund Hyde Center at 6:45-7:00 a.m.​

Most Volunteer positions will be done by 10:00 a.m.

For your time and commitment, Marklund will provide you with a complimentary shirt (first come, first serve basis), morning snacks , and warm coffee!

​Roles

Course Marshal*: Stationed at important intersections along the route that are blocked to traffic. Signal and guide runners to keep them safe on the course while making sure no cars enter the course. 

Race Day Registration & Packet Pick Up: Distribute packets to pre-registrants at the Packet Pick-Up tent or assist with registration purchases and donations at the Registration Tent. Help participants fill out necessary forms if they have questions.

Food/Beverage: Assist Marklund Special Events Director in the food tent by setting up the food, keeping track of empty trays and keeping the area clean. This role also includes tear down of supplies. Comply with food safety protocols.

Water Station: Pass out water to 5K participants at the 1.5 Mile Mark on the course route. You will be shuttled to your station from Volunteer Check-In and can head back after the race sweeper passes.

Course Volunteer: Provide support & encouragement by cheering on participants along the course route.

Course Sweeper: Be the last to walk the 5K course for other volunteers and police to determine when the race ends.

*Adults preferred for this role.
