Women Swimmin' for Hospicare is a community event that raises money for Hospicare & Palliative Care Services.
I've swum across the lake many times. This year, my trip will be particularly meaningful as I will swim to honor the memory of my friend, Lena Kourkoutis, who passed away in June from colon cancer. Lena was a mom, a physicist, a teacher, and someone for whom fitness was an important part of a happy life. She benefitted from Hospicare's help and her family has asked for donations to go to Hospicare.
