Women Swimmin' for Hospicare is a community event that raises money for Hospicare & Palliative Care Services.

I'll be participating in this year's Go the Distance & Women Swimmin' for Hospicare to raise much-needed funds for Hospicare. While some of us will be swimming and some will be doing other activities to Go the Distance, we realize that our fundraising efforts have a huge impact on the resources available for Hospicare to provide compassionate end-of-life care. I'm proud to be involved in this special community event and grateful to be able to participate. Hospicare needs us more than ever, and we can make a difference!

We're SWIMMING & GOING THE DISTANCE to raise funds that help Hospicare to:

- Provide vital medications to ease pain and manage symptoms

- Provide specialized medical equipment so patients can stay in their own homes

- Train more volunteers to deliver complementary therapies to enhance comfort and peace

- Offer grief counseling sessions

- Continue to provide intensive round-the-clock care at the Hospicare residence for patients who need more care than they can receive in their own homes.

If you can, please join me in supporting their work by making a donation on my fundraising page - you’ll find a link below. I hope you'll consider making a gift.

Wishing you good health and happiness,

Celebrating Life & 20 years of Lake Swimming for Hospicare!

As someone who qualifies for palliative care, I feel incredibly lucky to be alive and swimming. With the help of friends, family and caring doctors... I am in the Swim of Life!

Last year was a slow forward float often hugging my floatation device to rest. In Cayuga Lake, I wore two layers of wetsuit to protect from the cold. Ended up in bed for 5 days after the swim.. with joy in my heart. Don't know if I can swim Cayuga Lake again, but if I can't, I will try to cross smaller, warmer Otisco Lake. If I can't swim Otisco, I pledge to lake swim as much as I can.

Please join me in my efforts to support our Hospicare and our community members when they need us the most.

Let's swim and live together, one moment at a time.
