Walk for the Wild Registration is Now Closed

Walk for the Wild presented by Bank of Texas is the Houston Zoo’s third annual 5k supporting wildlife-saving programs. Bring your herd, come to the Zoo, and get your steps in!

Registration for Walk for the Wild includes an exclusive Walk for the Wild t-shirt, admission to the Zoo for the day, and access to the Walk for the Wild After Party. Participants can compete to earn exclusive Houston Zoo prizes and experiences through fundraising, completing activities, and recruiting others to join the cause.

Every dollar raised helps care for our animals here in Houston and their wild counterparts around the world.

Date: April 21, 2024

Time: 7:00 AM-10:00 AM

7:00 AM: Check-in opens
7:45 AM: Opening Ceremony
8:00 AM-10:00 AM: Walking and After Party

Registration Details

Before February 6: $55/Adult, $35 for kids under 10

After February 6: $60/Adult, $40 for kids under 10

Please register children under age 2 as "Infants" free of charge. Children ages 3 & up must be registered as "Child".

Walk for the Wild T-Shirts

New this year: Have your Walk for the Wild shirts shipped to your house! Select "Yes" when asked if you would like to have your shirts delivered and the shipping fee will be applied at checkout.

If you opted to have your Walk for the Wild shirt(s) shipped to you, they will arrive the week of April 15!

T-shirts can also be picked up at Curbside T-Shirt Pickup on April 18 or at Walk for the Wild on April 21.

T-shirts are available in sizes: Adult XXL

Please note, we have sold out of size Youth Small, Youth Medium, Adult Small, Adult Medium, Adult Large & Adult XXX-L T-Shirts

Register by March 23 to guarantee your preferred t-shirt size!

How you can help save wildlife:

Fundraiser: Support saving animals around the world-from sea turtles off the Texas Gulf Coast to Asian elephants in Borneo. Help us reach our goal of $150k! You can earn prizes for being the top individual fundraiser or being part of the top fundraising team.

Spread the Word: Post about Walk for the Wild on social media and encourage your family & friends to get involved! Use the tag #HouZooWalkWild so we can see it!

Bring Your Herd: Join us on April 21 as we Walk for the Wild at the Houston Zoo! Enjoy a morning of walking, animals, and an After Party!
