My journey through the NAFC school system gave me a strong foundation that has shaped both my career and my family life. After moving to Floyd County in fourth grade, I attended Lafayette Elementary, then St. Mary of the Knobs, and continued at Floyds Knobs Elementary when the schools combined. I went on to attend Floyd Central Junior High and graduated from Floyd Central High School in 2004.

During those years, I found myself surrounded by incredible friends and mentors who helped build my confidence and encouraged me to pursue opportunities in leadership and communication. Some of my favorite memories include being part of the Dazzlers, where I celebrated a national championship my junior year, and working in Radio/TV, helping with school announcements and videos. I also loved planning dances and events, experiences that taught me the importance of teamwork and community.

Teachers like Rick Miller, who led Radio/TV, and Jim Lang, who taught newspaper, inspired me with their passion and creativity. They encouraged me to explore journalism, which eventually became my career. After studying journalism at Ball State, I began my reporting career at KCBD, an NBC affiliate in Texas, before moving back to this region to work as a reporter at Wave 3 in Louisville covering Southern Indiana. For the past eight years, I have served as a Marketing Account Manager at ProMedia Group, working with the City of New Albany, City of Jeffersonville, and even the NAFC Schools. My work allows me to stay closely connected to the stories, people, and progress of our community.

Family is at the heart of everything I do. My husband, Chris, is the morning anchor at WDRB, and together we are raising three children here in Floyds Knobs: Quinn, a 3rd grader at Floyd Knobs Elementary; Collin, a kindergartener at FKE; and Vivian, our two-year-old. My siblings, Lindsay (FCHS ’06), Cassidy (FCHS ’09), and Joe (FCHS ’11), are also proud Floyd Central graduates, and I love that our family’s story is so deeply tied to this community. Outside of work, I enjoy running, reading, and, most of all, spending time with my kids as they begin to experience the same schools and traditions I did.

Supporting the NAFC Education Foundation is deeply meaningful to me because I know firsthand the difference it makes. All three of my children have participated in the Imagination Library program, which has been such a gift for early literacy. Through my work at ProMedia, I’ve seen the incredible impact of Great Classroom Grants in action, giving teachers the tools to create exciting and innovative learning experiences. I want my children, and every student in our district, to have the same opportunities I had as a student. That is why I am proud to be part of the Royal Court and to give back to the schools and community that gave so much to me.
