Growing up in the NAFC school system shaped so much of who I am today. From Greenville Elementary through Floyd Central Junior High and graduating from Floyd Central High School in 1997, I had teachers and coaches who built my confidence, encouraged curiosity, and gave me a love for sports and history. Playing football and announcing for the baseball team my senior year ignited a passion that carried through college, where I studied sports marketing and management at IU and even worked as a PR intern with the Colts. Those experiences taught me to put myself out there, adapt to change, and explore new opportunities.

I am especially grateful for the mentors who made a lasting impact: Coach Ron Weigleb, who inspired confidence on and off the field, and teachers such as Sheri Cooley, Rudy Rice, Ray Weatherholt, and Bob Youngblood, who made learning fun and meaningful. Their influence continues to guide me today, whether I am working as a Compliance Manager at Farm Credit Mid America or volunteering as the announcer for Highland Hills Middle School football.

Family and community have always been central to my story. My wife, Erin, and I are raising our kids, Graham, an 8th grader who plays football at HHMS, and Grace, a 6th grader and HHMS cheerleader, here in Floyd County. I am also proud of my family’s deep roots in the area: my parents, Don Jr. (FC ’71) and Bev (FC ’72); my brothers Jon (FC ’99) and Brandon (FC ’03), who works in our family’s business, Uhl Trucking, founded by my great-grandfather in Greenville. Outside of work, I enjoy gardening on our 13 acres, raising and showing rabbits, and helping preserve local history, including establishing state historical markers for John Ford and Sherman Mitton.

Supporting the NAFC Education Foundation is important to me because I want today’s students to have the same opportunities and experiences that shaped my life. The Foundation lifts up teachers and students, creating an environment where curiosity and growth can thrive. I am excited to be part of the Royal Court to give back to the schools and community that have given so much to me and my family.
