2026 Legacy NAFC Royal Court supporting New Albany Floyd County Education Foundation

A message from Jenny Hupp (NA '92):
I'm a proud New Albany High School grad, Class of '92, and a love for our schools runs deep in my family. I went all the way through NAFC, from kindergarten at Fairmont to graduation at New Albany. My dad, Randy, taught art at Hazelwood Middle School for 37 years, and my mom, Anita Rayl, coached the NAHS cheer squad for 14 years, so I got to cheer for her (when I wasn't on the softball field). My brother, Rayz, is a Bulldog too. Today, my daughter, Mackenzie (NAHS '19), teaches kindergarten at Fairmont Elementary School, the same school where I started, and my niece, Mya, who was Mackenzie's classroom aide last year, is now an interventionist there.
I started coaching cheer right out of high school and have been on the sidelines at Scribner, Hazelwood, and New Albany ever since. My husband, Scotty, and I have two kids, Max and Mackenzie. Before coming to New Albany this year, I spent three years coaching alongside Mackenzie at Hazelwood, and last year we won the first state cheer title in school history. Now I'm back home as head coach at New Albany, with Mackenzie and Celia Gregory right beside me as my assistants. During the day, you'll find me at Cheerful Children Daycare/Preschool Center, which I started in my home in 2010. Any time that's left over, I'm probably at one of my grandkids' ballgames.
Bringing joy to kids and giving them a safe space to feel it is so important to me. With my cheerleaders, that starts with getting to know each one of them, supporting them in the classroom and out, and making practice a place they're excited to walk into. It means showing up for every other team at New Albany, the way my mom taught me. And it means giving back, whether we're shopping for a Fairmont family at Christmas or volunteering at the Back to School Bash.
That's why the Education Foundation means so much to me. Every school break, Mackenzie worries about whether her kids will have enough to eat, and Blessings in a Backpack helps make sure they do. Great Classroom Grants help teachers like her do more for their students. Our cheer program received a Foundation mental health grant this year, and I've already seen how much it helps my kids open up and shine.
I'm honored to be part of the 2026 Royal Court, and I'd love your help bringing a little more joy to our schools. Go Bulldogs!
