AIDS WALK Charlotte 2021, celebrating 25 years, is going virtual again this year but that doesn't mean the fundraising and need aren't real, it's just the community that's virtual. AIDS WALK Charlotte raises funds for services and programs RAIN provides to the Charlotte metro area.
In 2020, the world got thrown a curve ball called COVID-19 and like so many other events, we had to step inside and take our efforts online. For the safety of the community, this year's walk is virtual but with a twist. We will have a livestream program, with awards and entertainment, the morning of Saturday, May 1 and will have several predetermined walk routes people can walk, safely.
There are no parking problems. No crowds and no long lines to check-in. We still plan to give out awards to the top fundraising teams and individuals; and you still have a chance to get a walk t-shirt.
