The Breast Reconstruction Campaign supports research projects focused on breast reconstruction and provides educational opportunities and financial assistance to organizations that support uninsured or under-insured women who choose to have breast reconstruction following a lumpectomy or mastectomy due to breast cancer.
Funds generated from the Close the Loop 5K will be awarded to organizations through the Breast Reconstruction Awareness Campaign of The Plastic Surgery Foundation (PSF), the philanthropic arm of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

We believe every woman should have access to her breast reconstruction options.
Breast cancer is a devastating disease, affecting approximately 1 in 8 women in the United States. In 2019, an estimated 268,000 new cases of invasive breast cancer are expected to be diagnosed in the U.S., along with 62,930 new cases of non-invasive (in situ) breast cancer.
The disease not only threatens a woman's life, it also impacts her sense of self and femininity when her breasts are disfigured or removed to stop the cancer. Breast reconstruction can be an essential element of the healing process.
