Welcome back for the fifth year of The Plastic Surgery Foundation's Close the Loop 5K!  The Close the Loop 5K brings together plastic surgeons, patients, and the public in an effort to raise awareness and funds to support breast reconstruction charitable care and research.  

This year's 5K will take place Saturday, Oct. 29 at 7:00 a.m. ET at Castle Island in Boston, MA during Plastic Surgery The Meeting 2022.  Funds generated by the Close the Loop 5K will be awarded to organizations through the Breast Reconstruction Awareness Campaign of The Plastic Surgery Foundation (PSF), the philanthropic arm of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons.

Run In Person or Virtually!

Given the incredible success of our virtual 5K component over the last two years, this year's 5K will continue to be hosted BOTH in-person and online.  You can register as an individual, join an existing team (no limit on team size), or register as a team captain and start your own team.  Every participant will receive a race t-shirt and an participation medal.  Register before Oct. 10 and receive your Race Swag Bag before Oct. 29.  For those joining in-person we invite you to get in the Halloween spirit just a little early and come in costume!

Not a Runner?  You Can Still Participate.  (We won't tell anyone you didn't run!)

​While raising awareness and funds for the Breast Reconstruction Awareness Campaign would make anyone feel good, not everyone is a fan of all that running.  NO SWEAT - literally!  Feel free to sign up and support The Plastic Surgery Foundation by spreading the word and helping to bring the race toward its ultimate goal of raising over $100,000 to support life-saving research and charitable care. 

Have Extra Fun With The NO SWEAT CHALLENGE!

This part is even easier than running!  The NO SWEAT CHALLENGE (NSC) gives you the opportunity to leverage social media to earn points and spread your influence for a great cause!  

Here's how to turn your social media prowess into points and climb the leader board: 

Once you have registered as a 5K participant, link your social media accounts to your BRA 5K page! Scoot your cursor over to your profile photo on the top right, click "Edit Profile," then scroll to the bottom to reach the "Social Accounts" section. ​

​1 point every time your video is viewed 

1 point for every dollar you raise

2 points for every dollar you donate

10 points every time you tweet or when someone retweets or favorites one of your tweets (Note: You must use the hashtag #BRADay and must link your Twitter account.)  

10 points every time you make an Instagram post (Note: You must link your Instagram account and initiate the post from Instagram using the hashtag #BRADay.)

10 points for each photo you add 

20 points for each video you add

25 points for each person that accepts your invitation
