Chefs Cycle 2027

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

When is the 2027 ride?

Chefs Cycle will take place in Bend, Oregon from June 7–9, 2027. It’s a 2-day ride with 50- or 100-mile route options each day. Riders will check in and join the welcome dinner on June 7, then ride on June 8 and 9.

Do I have to be a chef to ride?
Nope! Chefs Cycle is for anyone who cares about ending childhood hunger. Our riders include chefs, restaurant teams, entrepreneurs, teachers, parents and advocates who are in it for the mission (and the fun).

I’m not a veteran cyclist. Can I still do this?
Absolutely. Whether you ride 100 miles or 50 miles daily, there’s a fully-supported ride for you. You'll train, build confidence, and finish stronger than you think.

What kind of bikes are allowed?
We welcome road bikes, gravel bikes, and Class 1 pedal-assist e-bikes. Safety is key. Your bike must be in good working order and able to handle long mileage. Class 2 and Class 3 e-bikes are not permitted.

How long do I have to fundraise?
You have until June 21, 2027 to reach the $4,500 minimum. We’ll provide you with the tools, support, and fundraising ideas you need to succeed.

What happens each day of the ride?
Each day includes breakfast, riding, rest stops, and nightly family dinners with our chef community. It’s equal parts a cycling challenge and an extraordinary culinary, mission-driven experience.

Can I volunteer instead of ride?
Yes! On-site volunteers are essential. Volunteers receive the same meals, fun and community spirit. Visit chefscycle.org to learn more & register.

Where does the money go?
Funds raised support No Kid Hungry’s work to help kids get the food they need every day, in every community. That means:

  • Expanding school & summer meals
  • Protecting SNAP & WIC access
  • Funding grants for food programs
  • Tackling root causes of hunger
