Program Overview

The Birdies for Charity program provides nonprofits with the opportunity to utilize the excitement of The Cognizant Classic in The Palm Beaches to raise funds for their cause. With no administrative fees, 100% of every donation goes directly to the nonprofit of your choice!

How It Works

  • Dates: The program runs from October 22, 2024 through February 26, 2025.

  • Pledge & Guess: Donors make pledges by guessing the total number of birdies that will be made by PGA TOUR players during The Cognizant Classic (Feb 27 – Mar 2, 2025). To participate, donors contribute at least $20 to the charity of their choice.

  • Grand Prize: One lucky supporter who correctly guesses the total number of birdies made during the tournament will win a $25,000 grand prize!

  • Bonus Pool: The tournament will contribute additional funds to a bonus pool that will be distributed among participating charities based on their fundraising efforts.

  • Tiebreaker: If there is a tie, the winner will be determined by the most accurate guess to a tiebreaker question: How many balls will land in the water at the Bear Trap (Holes 15, 16, and 17)? If multiple ties remain, additional tiebreaker questions will be used until a winner is determined

Ways Donors Can Give

  • Online: Donors can click the "Donate" tab to select a charity, make their birdies guess, and complete the donation via credit card or Apple Pay. All online donations will be collected by PGA TOUR Charities, Inc.

  • By Cash or Check: Donors wishing to donate via cash or check will make their donation directly to the charity of their choice. The donor must complete a Manual Donation Form, which includes their birdies guess and a tie-breaker question. The donor will send this form along with their donation directly to the charity. The charity will be responsible for recording all donations received and uploading them to the donation site.

How Nonprofits Can Participate

  • Eligibility: Charities must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits located in South Florida.

  • Application: Interested nonprofits can apply by submitting an online application and uploading their IRS 501(c)(3) determination letter.

  • Raising Funds: Participating charities can collect pledges by organizing fundraising events, promoting on social media, and reaching out to donors directly. We’ve created a social media kit and customizable flyers to help charities maximize their efforts.
  • Application Deadline: Nonprofits must complete their application by January 6 to be eligible for the 2025 program.

The Birdies for Charity Contest (“Contest”) is open to all individuals who are legal residents of the fifty (50) United States (excluding New York), eighteen (18) years of age or older. Employees of PGA TOUR Enterprises, LLC (“TOUR”) and paid tournament staff and the immediate family members of each and those residing in the same household are not eligible. The Contest is void where prohibited or restricted by law and is subject to all applicable laws. A participant need not be present to win. Participation acts as each entrant’s authorization and subscription to be included in TOUR communications, including email, regarding information, updates and offers of PGA TOUR Charities, Inc. (“PGA TOUR Charities” or “Sponsor”) its sponsors and affiliates, subject to exercise by an entrant of a provided option to opt out of such inclusion. Eligibility to participate is not dependent upon inclusion in such communications.

The Contest will commence at 9:00 AM ET on October 15, 2024 and will end at 5:00 PM ET on March 2, 2025. To enter, visit https://p2p.onecause.com/cognizantbfc at time of donation.
