Come join us on Saturday, May 20th for the Connecticut Foodshare's Walk Against Hunger at Dunkin Donuts Park in Hartford! Since 1968, The Friendship Service Center has been ensuring that New Britain's most underserved constituents are fed, and that is why we are walking in the Connecticut Foodshare Walk Against Hunger.
Last year, more than 95,000 meals were served in the Friendship Service Center's Tomasso Community Kitchen. The money we raise every year through the Walk Against Hunger makes that important work possible. Our Tomasso Community Kitchen serves 3 meals a day to our Emergency Shelter participants, but also 5 days per week serves lunch to community members experiencing food insecurity. We have seen our participant rate rise during COVID, while also are battling inflation and cost of food skyrocketing.
Please consider making a gift to support the FSC's efforts to end hunger. You may send a check made out to Walk Against Hunger, indicating the FSC in the memo line. Or, simply click the DONATE button on our walk page and the system will accept your credit card donation. Feel free also to set up a team that can collectively set a fundraising goal for the FSC, or have your company or foundation sponsor us!
We welcome you to walk with us on Saturday, May 20th so that together, we can take a stand against hunger. Please send any questions to info@fsc-ct.org, or call 860-225-0211.
