Where do I park?
There will be ample, free parking at Independence Grove. PLEASE plan to arrive early! There will be a back-up of cars on Buckley Road at the entrance to Independence Grove!! Allow an extra 30 minutes to your commute time!
When should I arrive at Independence Grove?
Plan to arrive no later than 8:00 am to get settled and enjoy the pre-event activities before the Run/Walk gets underway.
Where/when can I get my race t-shirt and bib?
Required Packet Pickup is at the Cancer Wellness Center, 215 Revere Drive, Northbrook, IL 60062.

SATURDAY, APRIL 27th, 10:00 am – 12:00 pm
Is it okay to bring our dog?
Sorry, pets are not allowed at Independence Grove
How about strollers or wheelchairs on the course?
Yes!
Is there a rain date?
April 28th is the date--rain or shine!
Can I still register to walk or run?
Yes! Register and confirm your spot for the Cancer Wellness Center's Run/Walk online until 12:00 pm on Thursday, April 25.
If you missed online registration, you can sign up in person at packet pickup or onsite the day of the event.
And, friends and family can continue to donate to your run/walk up to two weeks after the event!
What's the schedule for the morning?
7:30 am – Onsite Registration - if you have already picked up your packets, you do not have to check in upon arrival
8:30 am – Cancer Survivor Photo – the group will gather at the Survivorship tent
8:45 am – Opening Program
9:00 am – 5K Run/Walk Start
9:10 am – 1 Mile Family Walk Start
11:00 am – Event Concludes – enjoy all that Independence Grove has to offer!
What are the awards?
All 5K runners will be chip timed and will be eligible to win a medal. Awards will be given to the top male and female finishers. Awards will also be given to the top three male and three female finishers in each age group.
What else is happening at the event?
We will have lots of sponsors with awesome giveaways, great music and dancing, and a fun Home Depot workshop, as well as a face painter for kids. We will also have a food tent with water and snacks. And, picnic tables meeting places will be set up for each of the race teams. Best of all it will be an amazing morning of community supporting a great cause – the Cancer Wellness Center!
