Q: My company wants to participate in the event. How do I start a team?
A: On the homepage, you'll see a button to "Join or Start a Team." When you click this, it will give you the option to either search for an existing team, or start your own. You'll scroll down to start your team, enter the name you want to give your team, and then go through the steps to set up your team page. Once it's created, you can invite your co-workers and friends, or they can search for your team name once it's created.
Q: What does walking "virtually" mean?
A: Walking virtually is an option for people who live outside of San Francisco, and can't make it to the event, to join us in spirit! If you register to walk virtually, you can either start/join a team and walk with your team in your city, or you can just set up a fundraising page and help fundraise for the event. If you do decide to walk, please be sure to take photos and videos and upload them!
Q: I want to sponsor. How do I claim the registrations that are included in my sponsorship?
A: After you register as a sponsor, you'll receive a link to registration and a discount code for free registration. You'll have the option to send this registration link and code to your guests and have them register themselves (recommended), or register them on their behalf using this code.
Q: Are children free to attend?
A: Yes! Children 12 and under are free to attend the event. They will still get all of the benefits of an adult attendee. Children over the age of 12 will be considered an adult, and need a regular registration to attend.
Q: I want to register my whole family -- how can I do that?
A: You have the option to register your whole family or group as individuals or as a team. If you want to register register as a team, you will follow the steps laid out above on how to start a team, and as you go through the registration process, it will give you the option to "Register Others." If you want to register a child 12 or under, you will have the option to register them for free. To register your group as individuals, click "Register as an Individual," and follow the steps. You will then have the option to "Register Others."
Q: How should I dress for the event?
A: If last year is any indication, we recommend dressing for some "potentially" warm weather. If you are going to wear some warmer outerwear, be sure to have a t-shirt underneath. If you are planning to plunge with us after the walk, then you will need clothes that can get wet! We recommend bringing a towel as well.
Q: Can we bring our dog to the event?
A: Of course! Dogs are more than welcome to come to the event, and we highly encourage it. Please be sure that you keep your pup on a leash, as Crissy Field is a public area and we want to ensure the safety of your furry friend and our other guests.
Q: Where do we park?
A: There is plenty of parking at the event. Just navigate to Crissy Field East Beach, and follow the parking lot toward the Golden Gate Bridge. You will see the event setup, and find parking wherever you can.
