What is Disc Golf?

If you can throw a frisbee and you like to have fun, you can play disc golf!

  • One of the world’s fastest growing sports.
  • An easy-going activity that suits everyone – whether you are an experienced player or beginner.
  • Similar to golf, but instead of clubs and balls you play with discs. And instead of a hole you have a basket.
  • The goal is to get through the course with the least amount of throws.
  • There are 18 holes of disc golf at Mary's Farm & Sanctuary.
  • Like golf, groups go out in teams of four (4).

    • Accessible Disc Golf!

MeepMeep is launching a stick-on disc golf locator in Summer 2021, so you can search less and play more! Based in Victoria, MeepMeep supports all disc golf players and uses an accessibility-first design to enable players with vision or cognitive impairments. Join their free pre-order list to receive updates and help bring MeepMeep to life.

      • There is a range of programming including swimming, canoeing,  sailing, big swings, trampolines, sports & games, arts & crafts, camp fires, talent shows and so much more!
      • Instills confidence and life-skills that campers take back to their everyday lives.

How Your Support Makes a Difference

You can help some of the most vulnerable population impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic with the funds you raise to send campers with disabilities to Camp Shawnigan.

      __________

Cassidy had never been away from home before Easter Seals. She never had the opportunity to go to any other regular overnight camps – camps for children without disabilities.

We had a lot of barriers getting into regular camps. We thought Cassidy would never have a camp experience, something I think is so important for any child growing up. One of my favourite memories is picking Cassidy up at the end of her first week and she looked like she hadn't showered in a week, but she had! She looked like any other child returning home from a week away at camp.

These camps for our children are life changing. It teachers them kindness, compassion, support of one another and not to be afraid. To be able to go out in the world and be themselves. Nobody places any expectations on them and they just shine. It's those experiences that come home and shape them, giving them tools to help them with their day to day life challenges." ~ Gina, Cassidy's mother
