About ECO Trails Bike Race

Completing the Construction of the Eagle Valley Trail

Eagle County has only 12 more miles of recreation trail to build until you never have to ride or walk on a highway again. We need your help to get this monumental project completed.

We are almost to the goal of 70% of the $38 million secured to complete it. We need you and our local community to get it to the finish line.

The Eagle Valley Trail stretches from the top of Vail Pass to the Glenwood Canyon. It is a paved recreation path that will traverse Eagle County for a total of 62.7 miles when completed. It connects paved trails in neighboring counties for an incredible 140+ miles of off-highway riding from Breckenridge all the way to Aspen. Numerous spur trails link from the Eagle Valley Trail to easily access Gypsum, Eagle Ranch, Beaver Creek, Avon, Minturn and other populated areas.

Will you help us make this incredible achievement become a reality with your donation to the Eagle Valley Trail?

Click on the "donate" button to give online or send a check made payable to Mountain Recreation Foundation and mail it to: PO Box 1891, Edwards, CO 81632. Be sure to include "Eagle Valley Trail Contribution" in the memo line.

Why is the Eagle Valley Trail having a Virtual Bike Race?

With lots of snow still piled up in Eagle County, we are emerging from winter and ready to get on our bikes. While you are getting your bike
legs in shape, we thought it would be fun to have a virtual race with some friendly competition to see which team could raise the most money
and secure the title of winning the race to complete the Eagle Valley Trail.

It's all in fun, but you are contributing to the safety and security of the community. 100% of your donation goes to the mission of completing the construction on the final miles of the Trail in Eagle County.

How can you get involved?

Make a donation: Click on any of the "Donate" buttons and follow the prompts. You will have the option to designate your donation to an individual to show your support. Be sure to share on your social media platforms that you donated by using the hashtag #WeEVT.

Send it to your friends, neighbors and family. Post it on social media. Help your favorite team come out on top of the leader board for The Eagle Valley Trail.

Form a team: We will set everything up for you. You just need to tell us who will be on your team and what your fundraising goal will be. If you are interested email info@eaglevalleytrail.org.

“My dream is that one day when visitors arrive at the Denver International Airport they can ride their bike all the way to Eagle without ever having to get on the road.”
Senator John Hickenlooper
(quoted at the Eagle Valley Trail / Eagle to Horn Ranch Open Space ribbon cutting in 2018)

Six Reasons to Complete the Eagle Valley Trail:

1. CONNECT OUR COMMUNITY

A completed trail will help ensure people of all backgrounds can connect
to work, school and public transportation throughout Eagle County and
other Summit, Garfield and Pitkin County trails.

2. ADDRESS CLIMATE CHANGE

Did you know that transportation emissions are Eagle County’s largest
sector of air pollution? The EVT provides an alternative to traveling
via passenger vehicles, shifting toward a greener and healthier future.

3. PROMOTE EQUITY AND INCLUSIVITY

Whether people use the trail for recreation, commuting to work or school or accessing public transportation, a completed trail means more
accessibility for all ages, abilities and economic situations.

4. BROADEN ECONOMIC IMPACT

Businesses along the route of the trail report sizable benefits from people traveling on the Trail. Completion of the Trail also helps attract low impact travelers to support our local businesses.

5. MAINTAIN QUALITY OF PLACE

Safety is the number one concern when it comes to finishing the EVT. When finished, the EVT will address growing safety issues for bicyclists and pedestrians sharing the highway with vehicles.

6. ENCOURAGE SUSTAINABLE TOURISM

Over-tourism is a reality for  Eagle County and destinations around the globe. The EVT disperses travelers from tourist hot spots and provides alternative modes of transportation in and around Colorado’s most popular resort destinations.
