Women United for Learning supporting United Way of the Capital Region

United Way of the Capital Region’s Women’s Leadership Network will fund and support field trips for 100 preschool children from Cumberland County in our Ready for School, Ready to Succeed program which helps prepare children for kindergarten. Field trips provide children with a chance to learn in a new environment, beyond the walls of the classroom. They expose children to new experiences, enhance social development, and allow real-world application of things they are learning.
Ready for School, Ready to Succeed prepares preschool students ages 3 to 5 from low-income families to begin kindergarten. Through this initiative, families can attend our free educational workshops held weekly throughout the community year-round.
Women's Leadership Network Vino & Volunteering Event
On Thursday, May 29, United Way's Women's Leadership Network will hold a Vino & Volunteering Event at The Englewood Hershey from 6-8 p.m. At the event, we will assemble snack bags and activity kits for children participating in field trips to the Hershey Children’s Museum in June. More than 100 children will explore their imagination and discover new interests during these trips which are made possible through WLN’s Women United for Learning.
