COVID-19 SAFETY AND PROTOCOLS
The Hot Chocolate Run is a community show of support for survivors of domestic violence. As a community, we take care of one another.
More than ever, community safety is a shared responsibility as we plan to gather together in December. As a registered participant, it's your responsibility to follow these guidelines.
- Safe Passage will follow all local and state public health mandates and directives.
- Should public health data require it, we will cancel our in-person event and provide all participants with a virtual event experience. We will make this decision with as much advance notice as possible.
- To limit virus transmission, hot chocolate will not be served at this year's event. Instead, we'll give each participant a packet of hot chocolate mix to enjoy at home in your mug (yes, of course there will still be mugs!)
- Food and water will be limited. Please plan ahead and bring your own water bottle and snacks.
- The following guidelines apply to all participants, including runners, walkers, volunteers, sponsors and vendors.
What we need from you:
- All participants who are eligible for vaccination must be vaccinated in order to participate in the in-person event.
- If you can't participate in-person, we encourage you to sign up as a virtual participant.
- All participants ages 2+ must comply with current Northampton mask mandates as follows. Updated 10/4/21:
- Masks are required at all times at the event site at Hampton Ave. & Old South St.
- Masks are required on the run and walk courses except by participants who can maintain 6+ feet of distance from other participants.
- Stay home if:
- you feel sick or have COVID-19 symptoms (such as fever, a sore throat, chills, cough, shortness of breath, congestion, nausea, or vomiting);
- you have been in close contact with anyone diagnosed with COVID-19 after November 21;
- you've been directed to self-isolate or quarantine by a health care provider or public health official;
- you are awaiting the results of a COVID-19 test.
