About The 27th Annual Hill Country Ride for AIDS

Welcome to the to the 27th Annual Hill Country Ride for AIDS!

We are so excited to start this year with you!  The HCRA is known for it's inclusive and active community and you are a huge part of it.  Ride Day is April 18th, 2026 and we've got the info you need below to get set up!

We are currently in Pre-Season...that Ride Day is really far out!  So...what is there to do during pre-season?

  • Start and build your team!  - You don't have to be a part of a team.  We have plenty of solo-riders.   BUUUT, this is a social ride, so most of our activities are made even better when you experience them with friends.  The team can be comprised of riders, volunteers, or both! As a matter of fact, most of our team are a mix of both.  Lean in with your friends; host fundraisers, plan costumes, plan your camping (or just your day at Krause).  It's more fun when you make it yours.
  • Join our cycling club as we visit other ride groups and explore the city.  We are currently building out our Summer/Fall off-season schedule with rides that very in length, speed and intensity.  We'll post it on social media and the website very very soon!
  • Get a bike!  Got questions about where to get a bike?  Email us at info@hillcountryride.org and we'll do our best to point you in the right direction.  You don't need a $100000000000000 bike to do this ride.  We have old, new, carbon fiber, steel-framed, electric...heck, even tandem bikes in our ride.  You'll see it all.
  • Start a birthday fundraiser.  We'd love to be your birthday fundraiser on instagram/facebook/meta....they make it pretty easy, and the dollars count towards your fundraising with hardly any work on your part!

What's next?

Our first large scale event will be World AIDS Day, where we take time to remember why we work so hard to empower our nine local beneficiaries and start our push to the beginning of Ride Season!  We'll have details out, soon, but you can go ahead and put December 1st in your calendar, because it's the same day each year.  We'll also be revealing our THEME for the year!

Season Kickoff!

When:  January 23rd from 7:00p to 9:30p

Where:  Austin Public Library (Downtown)

What:  This is where we really ramp it up!  Think of it like a pep-rally!  We'll gather our energy and give you the low down for the lead up to April 18th.  Focussed weekly training rides, craft days, happy hours, bike 101s....we'll have it all lined up for you!

Also....

Our teams and beneficiaries have a ton of events planned for this coming year, so please add eli@hillcountryride.org to your contact list, so that you can stay informed on everything that we have going on.  Ask anyone who has been a part of this ride before...the more you lean into our "Community of Kindness", the more fulfilling your experience will be. If you have questions about the minimum fundraising goal ($250 for first-time riders, $500 for returning riders) and where the money goes, click here.

We care so much about you and this organization.  Please reach out to us with any questions.  We will be happy to help you find your community with us.

On behalf of the nine beneficiary agencies and the lives they serve, please accept our most sincere gratitude for registering!  Your participation will mean a lifeline of hope to thousands. You are literally saving lives and generating much needed goodness in our community.

See you soon,
