Q. When is the Los Angeles Marathon and Charity Half Marathon?

Q. What is the Los Angeles Charity Half Marathon?
A. The Charity Half Marathon is a half marathon within the Los Angeles Marathon where everyone participating is giving back! It is a unique event that has the intimate feel of a close-knit nonprofit community while enjoying the high energy and support of one of the largest marathons in the country. This event is exclusive to participants who are run for charity and fundraising for an Official Nonprofit Partner. The race starts at the marathon start line at 8:15am and runs half of the marathon course finishing in Century City at the marathon Finish Line.

Q. Is there a minimum fundraising goal for participants?
A. Yes, there is a minimum fundraising goal of $650 for charity runners. Each runner commits to raising $650 by March 15, 2023 in order to participate in the L.A. Charity Half Marathon. If the runner does not meet the fundraising commitment, we will charge the remaining amount to the payment method provided. 

Q. I've decided to run the L.A. Charity Half Marathon and fundraise for GLAZA. How do I receive my complimentary registration for the L.A. Charity Half Marathon?
A. Once you've created a fundraising page and have agreed to the $650 fundraising commitment, a unique registration link will be emailed to you. This link will allow you to register as a runner for the LA. Charity Half Marathon.
 
Q. Can I donate toward my own fundraising goal?
A. Absolutely! We actually recommend making a “first step” donation yourself to show your supporters that you’re invested in the cause and encourage others to donate to your goal as well.
 
Q. How do I donate to a participant?
A. That’s easy—all you have to do is click on the “Donate” button on the top of the page. From there, search for the participant’s personal fundraising page or team page by typing in their name or team name.
 
Q. Can I donate over the phone instead of online? Will offline donations count toward a participant’s fundraising goal?
A. Yes! To donate over the phone, please call GLAZA Manager, Annual Giving Programs Danika Jensen at 323-486-1352 or djensen@lazoo.org.
 
Q. Is my donation secure?
A. We know how important your personal information is. OneCause processes all donations through an SSL/PCI-compliant and secure platform.

Q. What if I can no longer participate as a runner?
A. There are no refunds, transfers, or deferrals for the Los Angeles Marathon or Charity Half Marathon for any reason including mistakenly registering for the wrong year, an Event cancellation, Event conducted at a shorter distance or as a virtual event or the Event being rescheduled.
