100% of net proceeds from the 2019 Pledge Run will help refurnish 24 beds, dressers, and night stands at the Marklund Wasmond Center.

2019 Project Sweet Dreams; Bedroom Makeover!
Marklund believes bedrooms are a special, safe place where our residents can relax – watch shows, listen to music, take a nap, or visit with friends and family. They are deeply personal spaces for each individual from the bedspread, to posters and art hung on the walls- unique to each and every individual. Most of us spend the most amount of time in our bedrooms, and therefore, they should be happy, cozy retreats suited to your tastes.
That’s why the net proceeds from this year’s pledge run will help makeover 9 bedrooms at the Marklund Wasmond Center in Elgin. Bedroom furniture in Elgin was last replaced 20 years ago- making this a much-needed update. The new furnishings will be safer, cleaner, and more stylish for the residents, AND the new layout will provide extra space and efficiency for direct care staff. Most importantly, each renovated bedroom will feel even more like HOME! Please help us achieve our $50,000 goal by collecting pledges or creating an online fundraising page today.

How Your Support Makes a Difference
State regulations require that facilities provide a bath once per week per resident and linens be washed once per week. At Marklund, each resident is bathed daily, and linens are washed daily. Additionally, Marklund maintains higher staff ratios with more qualified staff, provides on-staff therapists (vs. consultants), and provides more nursing minutes than required. This standard of care increases the cost of services and creates a gap of approximately $17,000 per individual served annually.
100% of net proceeds from the event will be applied toward this gap in funding, which goes toward Marklund Wasmond Center of Little Angel's much-needed direct care programs and services.
