Marklund believes bedrooms are a special, safe place where our residents can relax – watch shows, listen to music, take a nap, or visit with friends and family. They are deeply personal spaces for each individual from the bedspread, to posters and art hung on the walls- unique to each and every individual. Most of us spend the most amount of time in our bedrooms, and therefore, they should be happy, cozy retreats suited to your tastes.

That’s why the net proceeds from this year’s pledge run will help makeover 9 bedrooms at the Marklund Wasmond Center in Elgin. Bedroom furniture in Elgin was last replaced 20 years ago- making this a much-needed update. The new furnishings will be safer, cleaner, and more stylish for the residents, AND the new layout will provide extra space and efficiency for direct care staff.
