Emily and Matt Battaglia

In October, our dad unexpectedly passed away. His entire adult life, he faced challenges with Ulcerative Colitis. On May 28th, which magically happens to be his 60th birthday, we will be running the Buffalo Marathon in memory of him. He always supported our running careers, and we can't think of any better way to honor him than taking on 26.2 miles! While we train, we are hoping to fundraise in his memory, and help make a difference in the fight against Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis. All of the money we fundraise will be donated back to the Central/Western NY Chapter of the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation. This is important to us as it is where Dad grew up (Rochester), and then where he lived his whole adult life (Syracuse). This will be a big undertaking, but it will all be worth it because your donations will not only motivate us, but they will help us get closer to the cure!

About Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis

Known collectively as inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD), Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis affect millions of Americans. The Foundation's mission is to cure Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis, and to improve the quality of life of children and adults who are affected by these diseases. No gift is too small when we work together. Please join me by donating today, every dollar gets us closer to cures!

The Crohn's & Colitis Foundation is the largest non-profit, voluntary, health organization dedicated to finding cures for inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD).  The Foundation works to fulfill its mission by funding research; providing educational resources for patients and their families, medical professionals, and the public; and furnishing supportive services for those afflicted with IBD.
