Paces for Faces Walk Along 2023

Frequently Asked Questions

Please see below for answers to your frequently asked questions!

Do I need to register?

Particularly for those who intend to walk in person in Wakefield, your registration helps us plan for activities, facilities, snacks and more. Please register whether you intend to walk in person or virtually!

If I am a virtual walker, when do I need to run/walk my 5K?

You can complete your 5K any time between September 24-25. Gather your team and hit your favorite route! Be sure to take pictures along the way, and if you post them on social media, use the hashtag #pacesforfaces2022 so we can experience the day together!

Do I need to record anywhere that I have completed my 5K?

We are big believers in the honor system! You do not need to track your activity, however, we encourage you to take a picture of your fitness tracker or a screenshot of your favorite fitness app, and share it with the hashtag #pacesforfaces2022!

Will there be t-shirts for this year's walk?

You can order a shirt through our t-shirt fundraiser. Follow this link and you can place an order for your shirt. Each shirt is sold for $15 and proceeds go to the Foundation for Faces of Children. In order to get your shirt before the Walk, you will need to place your oder by September 2, 2022. T-shirts will not be given out to in-person walkers this year.

Can anyone participate from anywhere?

Yes! You have the option to come to Lake Quannopowitt in Wakefield or participate from absolutely anywhere! If you have family or friends who have always wanted to participate but have never been able to make the trip to Wakefield, MA, this is their year to join the fun! All they need to do is register, fundraise, and walk/run a 5K over the Walk weekend. We are looking at you, grandparents!

When is the last day to register?

You can register up until the last day of the walk, which is September 24, 2022.

When is the last day to make a donation?

The last day to make a donation to Paces for Faces 2021 is October 31, 2022.

What if I have offline donations?

If you have cash or check donations, you will want to track those on your individual fundraising page so that they count toward your fundraising goal. To track these donations on your fundraising page, you can go to Manage My Page, and then go to Raise at Least $750 on the left navigation. From there, visit the tab that says Enter Cash/Checks. Here you will be able to record your offline donations. Once you are ready to send in your donations, you can mail them to the Foundation for Faces of Children, 258 Harvard St, #367, Brookline, MA, 02446. Any offline donations recorded on your individual page will count toward your goal and becoming a Smile Strider.

I will not be able to complete a 5K that weekend. How else can I contribute?

If you are not able to participate that weekend and would still like to contribute, you can register under the "Just Fundraise" option, and raise money as an individual fundraiser.

What is a Smile Strider?

We recognize individuals who do an outstanding job of fundraising as a Smile Strider. This year, we have different levels of achievement!

  • Raise $750 through an individual fundraising page to be a Smile Strider.
  • Raise $1,500 through an individual fundraising page to be a Smile Strider Gold.
  • Raise $3,000 through an individual fundraising page to be a Smile Strider Platinum.

Our Smile Striders will receive a special badge on their fundraising page, and will also receive a gift mailed to their home after the completion of the Walk weekend. You have until September 25, 2022 to complete your fundraising for this recognition. We recognize individuals as Smile Striders - not teams - so you need to raise the amount on your individual fundraising page to receive this recognition.
