2024 Paddle for Breast Cancer Research in RI

You’ve registered to paddle, now what?

Paddlers, where and when to meet: The launch point for the 2024 event is a small beach at Gardner’s Wharf, 170 Main Street, North Kingstown, RI. There is a public parking lot at the end of Main Street.  Check in: 8:30am – 10:00am.  Paddle: 10:00am-12:00pm.

You will see Paddle for Progress RI signs directing you to the kayak launch area. There will be plenty of parking, as well as enthusiastic people to help you unload your watercraft and get organized. We will have some light refreshments for paddlers and spectators and the chance to meet and greet and take a few photos. Please stop by the welcome tent as soon as you arrive to check in.

Paddlers, what to wear and bring: Bring a refillable water bottle, and your boat or board, along with your paddle/oar and life-jacket. Please bring any necessary sun protection, including sunglasses, a hat, and sunscreen. Everyone on the water must sign a Release of Liability Form available online when you register for the event. Please dress appropriately for the air and water temperature.

**Single and double kayaks, pedal boards, SUPs, and rowing boats of all types are invited to join the fun. Participants must provide their own watercraft for the event. Under RI DEM regulation, everyone will be required to wear a life-jacket.

Paddlers, our paddling route: This will be a gentle 2-mile paddle in Wickford Harbor, beginning at a small beach at Gardner’s Wharf, 170 Main Street, North Kingstown. We will paddle around two small picturesque inner harbor islands, Rabbit, and Cornelius crossing the boat channel with the support of the North Kingstown Harbormaster and others. We will take a brief water break and then return to the launch point where our paddling adventure will conclude.

Viewers and fans, we’re looking forward to seeing you: If you are coming to view the event and cheer on the participants, you can do this from the launch area at Gardner’s Wharf, 170 Main Street, North Kingstown. There is a public parking area at the end of Main Street. This promises to be a great sight, for a great cause.

Thank you again for your support!
