ABOUT FOR KIDS' SAKE
For Kids’ Sake is the annual mentor recruitment and fundraising campaign supporting Kansas Big Brothers Big Sisters. It is one of the longest-running state fundraisers that provides support for KSBBBS’ operating budget. Each year, close to 1,500 individuals come together in their communities across the state and create teams at their place of business, with their group of family and friends or participate as individual fundraisers.
Proceeds raised through FKS stay locally in Riley County and go toward costs to match and professionally support Big and Little mentoring matches for a year.
Examples of program costs:
- Recruitment of volunteers
- Enrollment of youth
- References and background checks
- Best-fit match selection to ensure longevity and success
- Ongoing professional support by the MSS (Match Support Specialist) to ensure quality and safety while setting and reaching annual goals
- Activities and events to enrich the match relationship
- When considering participation in FKS, please remember that your support can come in different forms and will go a long way to help our youth facing adversity!
