What is included with my registration?

If you register by the sweatshirt and medal deadline, your registration includes:

  • A Marklund Run, Walk & Roll sweatshirt (if registration applys)
  • A participant medal
  • A chipped 5K race bib
  • Goodies and giveaways from sponsors and vendors
  • Access to our Party in the Park, featuring local food, entertainment, and a finisher prize when you cross the finish line

Be sure to register by the designated deadline to guarantee your sweatshirt and medal.


What is a wheelchair race?

The wheelchair race is a race division for 5K participants who use racing wheelchairs to competitively complete the course. It provides an opportunity for wheelchair athletes to participate safely.


At the Marklund Run, Walk & Roll, participants in wheelchairs who are competing in the 5K wheelchair division will start at 8:15 a.m. and go first. Those who use wheelchairs and choose to participate in the 5K or 1-Mile walk/roll at a casual pace may start with the main 8:30 a.m. 5K/1-Mile group alongside runners and walkers.


Does the registration price increase?

Yes. Early Bird pricing ends on October 1.


When does online registration close?

Online registration closes on Wednesday, October 14, at 11:59 p.m.

After October 14, participants may register:

  • At packet pickup on the dates listed below
  • In person on race day

Is there a deadline to order event gear?

Sweatshirt deadline is 9/21.


Is there chipped timing, and is the 5K course USATF certified?

Yes! The race features chipped timing, and the 5K course is USATF certified.

Is there a packet shipment option?

No. Packet shipment is no longer available.

However, if you purchase a "Sweatshirt Only", those can be shipped AFTER the event. 


Can I pick up my race packet before October 18?

Yes! We strongly encourage participants to pick up their race packets before race day to help avoid crowds and reduce wait times.

  • Friday, October 16: 4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
  • Saturday, October 17: 10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

If picking up your packet before race morning is not possible, packets will also be available on race day from 7:30 a.m. to 8:15 a.m.

Will the event still take place in inclement weather?

Yes. This fundraiser for Marklund is a rain-or-shine event.

Event organizers will closely monitor weather conditions and may delay or cancel the event in the event of lightning or other hazardous conditions.

If the event must be canceled, all registered participants will be notified with instructions regarding packet pickup and any additional event information.


May I bring my child in a stroller or wagon?

Yes. Strollers and wagons are welcome but will be seeded at the back of the starting area, unless you plan on running. 

Children riding in strollers or wagons may participate free of charge. If you would like your child to receive their own race bib, medal, and sweatshirt, they must be registered separately.

Please note that bicycles and inline skates are prohibited.


May I bring my animal to the event?

No. Only certified service dogs are permitted, and prior approval is required.

Because many Marklund clients with unique needs participate in this event, pets will not be allowed on the race course or at the Party in the Park.

Leashed pets are welcome as spectators along the route, provided they remain at a safe distance from participants.

Will awards be given for the 5K?

Yes. Awards will be presented to:

  • Overall 5K Winner
  • Overall 5K Wheelchair Winner
  • First Place Female 5K Wheelchair Winner
  • Second Place Female 5K Wheelchair Winner
  • First Place Male 5K Wheelchair Winner
  • Second Place Male 5K Wheelchair Winner

Awards will also be given to the top two male finishers and top two female finishers in each of the following 5K age groups:

  • 14 & Under
  • 15–19
  • 20–24
  • 25–29
  • 30–34
  • 35–39
  • 40–44
  • 45–49
  • 50–54
  • 55–59
  • 60–64
  • 60+

Will awards be given to top fundraisers?

Yes!

Grand Prize Drawing

Participants and team captains who raise $250 or more will be entered into a Grand Prize drawing.

Participants and team captains who raise $1,000 or more will receive a second entry, doubling their chances of winning.

Guaranteed Fundraiser Prize

Participants and team captains who raise $250 or more will also receive a guaranteed prize mailed after the event.

Prizes include gift cards and other items generously donated by local businesses.
