CHRIS ERICKSON TAKE 50KM TITLE IN AUSTRALIA AS EVAN DUNFEE SETS PERSONAL BEST OF 3:58:34. — Harry Jerome International Track Classic

Meet our host, the Sole to Soul Step-A-Thon is brought to you by Evan Dunfee, Canadian Olympic 50km Race-Walker.

His career took off in 2013 when he made his first World Championship team, finishing 36th in the 50km walk.

In 2014 he broke the Canadian Record in the 20km walk, with his still personal best (but no longer Canadian Record) 1:20:12, finishing 11th at the World Team Championships and leading Canada to 4th as a team (in 2020 he was upgraded to 10th and our team to Silver).

Fast forward a couple years... With the Olympic Games postponed until 2021, 2020 was a year for him to get his body healthy and build a base with which to launch himself off of in 2021 as he aims for another performance he can be proud of at the Tokyo Olympic Games.

Outside of sport his biggest passion is physical literacy and promoting activity and sport for kids. When he's not walking he is a KidSport Ambassador, a Head2Head Mentor, and a Sport Leader and Richmond Olympic Experience attendant at the Richmond Olympic Oval. He has his degree in Kinesiology from the University of British Columbia and would one day like to pursue his Masters in childhood physical activity interventions.
