About Dakin Spirit Week
Join the Celebration: July 27 through August 1
Dakin Day, officially recognized on August 1, is our annual celebration of the people, pets, and community that make Dakin Humane Society's work possible.
This year, we're making it bigger than ever—and we want you to celebrate with us!
From July 27 through August 1, we're inviting animal lovers, businesses, families, and community groups alike to join a week-long Spirit Week filled with themed dress-up days, photo sharing, and fundraising.
Whether you participate as an individual, rally your workplace, or gather a team of friends and family, every act of support helps make a difference.

How to Participate
1. Join Spirit Week
Participate in our daily themed dress-up days between July 27 and August 1, or celebrate in a way that makes sense for you. This could include making a donation, sharing this with family and friends, or collecting pet supplies on our behalf!
Here's our lineup:
- Monday (7/27): Animal Print Day
- Tuesday (7/28): Tie Dye Day
- Wednesday (7/29): Crazy Day (Hair, Hat, Sock, etc.)
- Thursday (7/30): Twin Day
- Friday (7/31): Hawaiian Shirt Day
- Saturday (8/01): Dakin Spirit Day
2. Share Your Photos
Post photos of your participation on here, or if you're using social media, tag us to share your spirit. Invite friends, family, coworkers, and fellow animal lovers to join the celebration.
3. Raise Funds for Animals
Create your own fundraising page or make a donation to help provide care, shelter, and support for animals in our community. Every dollar raised helps strengthen the bond between people and pets.
