About Step Up For Valley
The Valley Hospital Foundation's Step Up For Valley is a virtual week-long fitness challenge to get our community to move, have fun, and raise money for the construction of The Valley Hospital in Paramus.
Upon registration, participants will have the opportunity to create their own fundraising pages for the event and will earn points for fundraising, engaging through social media, recruiting other participants, and, of course- getting those steps in through walking or running. The point leader board will be updated throughout the weeks leading up to and throughout the event and a variety of prizes will be awarded!
Participants will record their activity between Sunday, July 17th through Saturday, July 23rd. (Participants can also use Strava via a free account [no subscription is necessary] to automatically record and update their activity.) For the top ten prizes, only activities calculated through Strava (not self-reported) are eligible to win.
PRIZES!
We know you are joining us because you care about our community and believe in the construction of The Valley Hospital in Paramus, but prizes are really awesome too!
All registrants will be entered to win a "door prize" of either a Hydro Flask 32 oz. wide mouth straw with lid, or a Stanley 40 oz. Adventure Quencher Tumbler. There will be 20 door prizes drawn at random throughout the week of the event.
Overall Winners (highest number of points on the overall Leader Board)
First Place: Choice of a Peloton Bike or an Echelon Reflect 40 Fitness Mirror along with a two month family membership to Valley Health Lifestyles at The Valley Center for Health and Wellness
Second and third place: Choice of a Normatec Pulse 2.0 Leg Recovery System, a Yeti Tundra Haul Hard Cooler on Wheels, or a two month family membership to Valley Health Lifestyles at The Valley Center for Health and Wellness
Fourth through tenth place: Choices of a Peloton Guide, Garmin 245 GPS Running Smart Watch, $200 Lululemon gift card, a Theragun Mini Percussive Therapy Device, or a two month family membership to Valley Health Lifestyles at The Valley Center for Health and Wellness
The Valley Health System Department Team with the most points will win pizza lunch for their department (or equivalent).
Sponsorship Group Prizes
For individuals participating as part of a Platinum, Gold, Silver, or Bronze level sponsorship group, prizes will be awarded based on your group. See "Earn Prizes" under "Get Involved" for more information.
Rules & Considerations:
- For the top ten prizes, only activities calculated through Strava (not self-reported) are eligible to win.
- Participants are only eligible to win one Sponsorship Prize or an Overall Winner Prize. If a participant qualifies to win both a Sponsorship Prize and an Overall Winner Prize, the winning participant may select their prize from the applicable options. There will not be any “runner up” prizes in these instances.
GOALS!
Our goal is to raise $85,000 and complete 3,000 miles of walking and running together during the week of July 17th.
Participants will have the ability to set their own personal goals, too! Do your best and have fun and don't forget to have fun along the way.
