Your #LocalLove has never been more important. As we start to recover, the gap between thriving and just getting by is widening for many people who were already experiencing poverty, hunger and mental illness before the Covid-19 pandemic hit.
Others are experiencing challenges for the first time--job loss and precarious work, the deep impact of virtual learning on kids' mental health, and the impact of many months spent in isolation without connection to friends, family and neighbours.
You can help. Join the recovery and step up for your community.
Please pledge our team as we step up for our community. When you make a pledge, you help United Way tackle issues linked to poverty and social exclusion through strategic leadership, advocacy, and investments in programs and services proven to get results.
Here’s what your support means to people facing barriers to a good life in our community:
$52 provides an entire family with an Emergency Food Hamper from Glen Cairn Community Resource Centre that includes fresh fruits, vegetables and enough non-perishables food items so they can make healthy and culturally appropriate meals
$365 provides 251 children with a healthy and nutritious breakfast at South London Neighbourhood Resource Centre
$1,200 provides six children with a one-year membership at the Boys & Girls Club, a safe and welcoming environment that promotes physical health and helps them develop strong emotional well-being
Pledge your support as we make the TD Bank StairClimb for United Way – virtually, of course!
