We’re walking together because one extraordinary therapy dog inspired a movement.

Legend, our beloved golden retriever and the 2026 Pet Partners Pet of the Year Runner-Up, showed us how one therapy animal can change lives through compassion, connection, and the healing power of the human-animal bond.

Today, that legacy continues through Legend’s Pet Partners Community, a growing network of therapy animal teams, volunteers, handlers, supporters, and community partners bringing comfort and hope to people who need it most.

On September 26, our team will join the Pet Partners World’s Largest Pet Walk to raise awareness and funding for therapy animal teams serving hospitals, hospice, schools, libraries, veterans, senior living, rehabilitation centers, crisis support spaces, and community care settings.

Our 2026 goal is $50,000. Legend’s Pet Partners Community receives 20% of all fundraising through this campaign to help expand Pet Therapy outreach and carry Legend’s legacy into 2027.

Join us Saturday, September 26, 2026 at Lord of Life Lutheran Church, 13724 W. Meeker Blvd., Sun City West, AZ 85375. Check-in opens at 7:30 AM and the walk begins at 8:00 AM.

Choose your way to participate: 1K Fun Walk, $25 recommended donation, 0.62 miles; 3K Community Walk, $35 recommended donation, 1.86 miles; 5K Challenge Walk, $50 recommended donation, 3.11 miles; or Virtual Walk, $35 recommended donation, from anywhere.

You may also join as a Free Team Supporter, become a $25 Community Supporter, Sponsor a Walker or Therapy Team with $100, or become a $250 Community Impact Sponsor.

Pet Partners mails bibs, so register by the week prior to allow time for delivery. Event-day standard bibs will also be available at check-in while supplies last.

This is a community fundraiser, not a timed race. Participants of all ages and abilities are welcome to walk, crawl, slither, stroll, jog, roll, push, or join virtually. Well-managed animals are welcome, including dogs, mini horses, reptiles, and other appropriate animals that are safe and comfortable in a public event setting.

The event will include the Wishes Wall, Paws of Honor, Cards of Kindness Station hosted by Amy, Therapy Team Table Passport Challenge, Pet Therapy Team Coloring Contest, facility and community partner tables, shelter and rescue participation, food truck and coffee station opportunities, finish line photos, photo booth, prizes, gift basket entries, UGC prompts, and optional route activity stations.

Guests may add a Wishes Wall message for a suggested $5 donation or dedicate a Paws of Honor tag for $10 in honor or memory of a loved one, veteran, therapy animal, service animal, pet, or someone who made a difference.

Pet Therapy teams, facilities, schools, Lord of Life, shelter and rescue programs, vendors, first responders, food trucks, coffee stations, local businesses, and community partners are invited to participate.

Photos and videos may be taken during the event for event documentation, fundraising updates, Pet Therapy outreach, and Legend’s Pet Partners Community marketing. Participants complete the required release during registration.
