Women Swimmin' for Hospicare is a community event that raises money for Hospicare & Palliative Care Services.
Hello. It’s that time of year again and this will be my 7th Women Swimmin’.
This year is different for me. As many of you know, my beloved father, Morton Corwin, died in January. He was a blessing to my whole family and to our extended family. I will swim to honor him. I loved swimming with him, from my earliest years up until this past fall.
While my dad was ailing, he was helped by hospice in Florida. The nurses and aids were kind, thoughtful, and respectful to him and to us. After my dad passed, I was able to receive grief counseling here at Ithaca Hospicare, all of which gave me a deeper appreciation for Hospicare. I am profoundly grateful for their support and care.

My fellow mermaids include Paula Cohen, Ellen Morris Knower, and Elizabeth Goldberg! And our newest additions, the wonderful, Jennifer Ashley and Melissa Ashley! We’ll be missing Gina Giambattista.
Joel and others will be volunteering and acting as “chaperones” in kayaks, on SUP boards and canoes. Hoping for a warm, sunny, morning swim.
