Laura Gilmore

I was born and raised in Floyd County, and I love being a part of this community. I work with my mother at Gilmore Construction, which my parents started years ago. I graduated from Floyd Central High School, and I was lucky to have some amazing teachers and mentors there. Mr. William Krammes and Coach Greg Houston were particularly influential in my life.

I know that teachers often must pay for supplies out of their own pockets. That's why I think it's so important to support initiatives like the Great Classroom Grants, which help to fund innovative ideas from our teachers. We need to do everything we can to help those in need, and that's why I also support Blessings in a Backpack. This organization provides food for children on weekends and school holidays, which is essential in helping to address food insecurity. Together, we can make a real difference in our community.
