AbilityFirst East Los Angeles Center, one of multiple AbilityFirst locations in Southern California, has provided year-round programs and services for children and young adults with physical and developmental disabilities, since it first opened its doors in 1966. Through person-centered, interest-based activities, the center helps participants achieve their personal goals, especially in the areas of communication, socialization, basic life skills, and healthy living. The center serves East Los Angeles and Northeast Los Angeles, as well as
surrounding communities such as Alhambra, City of Commerce, El Monte,
Montebello, Monterey Park, Pico Rivera, Santa Fe Springs, and Whittier.
