About Volunteer Opportunities

Another great way to be a part of AIDS WALK Charlotte is to be a volunteer. We have some great and fun opportunities available so click on that "Volunteer With Us!" button below and get signed up.

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES:

Route Guides: Volunteers will be guiding and cheering walkers along the walk route while holding specialized signs with information ranging from HIV statistics to RAIN facts, and assisting CMPD. Each location will have a minimum of two volunteers - it's always more fun to cheer people on when you have a buddy or group!

Human Arrows: Volunteers will be assisting in directing and greeting participants and other volunteers to the plaza and atrium, to the registration/check-in tables, the community village and other important points of interest.

Stage Support & Assistance: Volunteers will be stationed up at the staging area to assist the emcees with their needs, offer support to the sound tech/DJ and help with the morning program (hand awards to announcer, make sure event stays on track with time, etc.).

Registration: Volunteers will be checking in walkers that have registered online and taking any additional monies they have raised and need to turn in. You will also be registering individuals that decided to work offline and collect donations such as checks and cash. There will be a training that morning so everyone knows how to process donations and walkers. Some volunteers will hand out t-shirts that have met the minimum fundraising requirement, help process credit cards and count money.

Set-Up & Breakdown: Volunteers will be assisting the walk committee, RAIN staff and board with unloading the truck of supplies, setting up tables, putting the community gallery together, honor beads table and other day of needs. All are welcome to help - the more hands, the faster we get done. Once the event is over we then clean up, load up the left over materials and put them back on the truck.
