Breakaway Cycling Adventure for Kids with Cancer

TIPS FOR FUNDRAISING:

  • Tell donors what you're doing! - Donors want to know how YOU feel about a cause. Why did you get involved? Tell them! Passionate people get results!
  • Talk about impact! - Remind donors that their fundraising dollars go a long way in the fight against childhood cancer. 1 in 5 children will not survive childhood cancer, and this number increases beyond 5 years. Their dollars matter!
  • Inspire! - If you've done any of our events before you've probably met some of our amazing child and family ambassadors. Make your audience aware of the difference they're making in the lives of these inspiring ambassadors.
  • Email! - Sending emails is the most effective tool to achieve your fundraising success. If you can, use a personal story when creating an email. Tell people WHY you're involved. This creates an emotional and personal connection to the cause.
  • Social media! - Sharing on social media increases your chances at being seen and heard. Mobilize your online community with stories, motivational anecdotes, inspiration and always include a link to your donation page!
  • Say thank you! - Thank your donors and let them know your appreciate their support. And if you say thank you on social media and tag them you may inspire others to donate, and the engagement can increase the post's visibility through the social media channel's algorithm.
  • Matching donations! - There are many companies that offer matching donations. A great way to double-up your efforts!
  • Fundraising challenges and incentives! - Whether it's a personal challenge or a group challenge, make a goal and work hard to achieve and share your goal. Motivate and encourage your friends as well.
