What does my donation do for A Precious Child’s giveSPORTS program?

The giveSPORTS program believes that no child should be sidelined because of their financial status.  Children who have the opportunity to play sports learn many life lessons such as teamwork, leadership, sportsmanship, responsibility, ethics, time management, how to strive to win and how to cope with losing.  Through an application submission process, the giveSPORTS program provides Opportunity Funds to cover expenses such as participation fees, uniforms and sports equipment.

How do children obtain a support from the giveSPORTS Opportunity Fund?

Children first apply to A Precious Child’s giveSPORTS Opportunity Fund. They complete an application that includes a budget and plan on how they will follow through with tasks such as transportation, practicing and time management. Help give A Precious Child the opportunity to say YES to more children in need!

The goal is to annually provide up to 15,000 children in need with sports equipment, access to camps and support to participate in lessons, camps and sports teams. There are over 250,000 children who live below the Colorado Standard of Self-Sufficiency. The more support A Precious Child receives from local communities, the bigger the dent they can make in reaching children in need. Help give A Precious Child the opportunity to say YES to more children in need!

Can I help A Precious Child if I don’t live in Colorado?

YES!

Anyone can DONATE to A Precious Child regardless of location. Donating on the giveSPORTS Equipment Drive site or through their website ensures that underserved and underprivileged children in Colorado have access to sports equipment and funds for registration, camp and uniform fees.

FOLLOW A Precious Child on social media! Liking and sharing their posts calls for assistance as the more their message is out into the communities, the more children and families they can help put on the path to self-sufficiency.

Help PURCHASE sports equipment on A Precious Child’s Amazon Wishlist. Your donated goods will go directly to A Precious Child. If you want to give a team, player or fundraiser credit in the challenge for your equipment donation, please put their name in the notes section at the Amazon check-out.

Besides sporting equipment, what other donations does A Precious Child collect?

A Precious Child provides basic essentials to children and families in need. This takes some financial burden off families living below the Colorado Standard of Self-Sufficiency. Families are then able to focus on paying for rent, transportation and maintaining a home. A Precious Child assists families with backpacks filled with grade-appropriate school supplies, birthday cakes and gifts, diapers and baby essentials, gently-used clothing and household goods, sports and arts equipment, STEM kits and gifts for the holidays. We rely on our community, civic groups, places of worship, small businesses, corporations, foundations, local governments and grants to help us meet these needs.
