The Reality of Domestic Violence

In Massachusetts, 1 in 3 women and 1 in 5 men are survivors of domestic violence.
Nationwide, an average of 3 women are killed by a current or former intimate partner every day.
Approximately 26% of US children under the age of 18 are exposed to domestic violence in their lifetime.

The Difference YOU Make by Fundraising for Safe Passage

Safe Passage offers programs and services to support survivors of domestic violence, educate our community, and advocate for systemic change.
In 2025, Hot Chocolate Run fundraisers helped provide 2,202 helpline calls to connect survivors with Safe Passage programs, resources, and community support.
For almost 50 years, Safe Passage has provided vital, life affirming support and services to thousands survivors of domestic violence in Hampshire County.

Fundraising Prizes!

People who fundraise $150 get our iconic red hat and enamel pin. But did you know that if you raise $500 you get a one of a kind Hot Chocolate Run long sleeved shirt and if you raise $750 you get a nifty pair of penguin and polar bear socks! Fundraisers in the top 20 receive a custom Hot Chocolate Run item announced a month before the event! In the past we've had Hot Chocolate Run tote bags, travel mugs, and sweatshirts! It's a little something extra to show our appreciation to people who work hard to support survivors of domestic violence.
