Tips for Fundraising
Looking for some pointers for fundraising for your Hike for Hope campaign? Check out a few of these tips!
- Customize Your Fundraising Page
When you register for the Hike for Hope, you'll be prompted to finish setting up your fundraising page. The page is automatically generated for you, but it is up to you to decide what goes on it! Add a personal message to your page letting people know why raising money for Family Promise is important to you, set a fundraising goal, and post a picture of yourself and/or your team.
- Share With Family and Friends
Spread the word! Share your page and the fact that you are participating in the Virtual Hike for Hope with family and friends through social media, email, and even text links. Let them know why raising money for this cause is important to you. The more people involved, the more funds we can raise for Family Promise's shelter and support programs!
- Connect Your Social Media Accounts
When you connect your social media profiles to your account, you'll be able to easily share your fundraising page, goals, and message with friends and family online. If you didn't connect your accounts during registration, you can do so now by going to your name in the top right corner of the page, and selecting "Edit Profile" under "Account". Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Google Accounts can all be connected. And don't forget to follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter to stay up-to-date on the latest Family Promise news!
- Create a Facebook Fundraiser
Facebook fundraising is an easy, fun way to connect with potential supporters and reach friends and families who may want to support your campaign. It's simple--on your dashboard, look for "Create a Facebook Fundraiser" in the sidebar (you'll be prompted to connect your Facebook account if you haven't done so already). Then, follow the steps to set up and publish your fundraiser!
- Thank Your Team Registrants and Donors
Be sure to let your supporters know how much you appreciate them! You are automatically notified when someone joins your team or makes a donation to your campaign via email, and when you opt in for text messages, you'll receive a notification on your phone as well. Acknowledging your donors is easy: simply send them an email, text, or a shoutout on social media. Not sure what to say? Use the pre-generated template we provide!
