I love community. I love to serve. I’m excited to support an organization that does just that–serve and help our community schools. I have seen first hand what this Foundation has done as an alumni and as a parent.

Being a grad of NAFC schools has impacted so much of my life. I’m a small town girl. I have never lived or worked more than 20 miles from Floyd Central since graduation because I love this community. When I moved to Floyd County my freshman year, I immediately felt like I belonged. I was accepted, supported, and encouraged. I had come from a school system that had not prepared me for academic success, and I wouldn’t have succeeded without the patience of the teachers, their grace, and the extra hours they dedicated to me. I learned the importance of connection!

My biggest why for participating in this campaign is the Foundation’s partnership with Blessings in a Backpack. This program is near and dear to my heart. Without the Foundation’s financial support, I’m not sure we could have provided meals to all of the children who needed them. More than just the money, the Foundation has mentored the local, all volunteer-led Blessings in a Backpack program. The Education Foundation has made sure that NAFC is a hunger free zone on the weekends for our preschoolers through sixth grade. The Foundation literally provides the foundation to help our kids succeed in life!
