I have aging parents, and have a firsthand understanding of the needs people have when they get older. LifeSpan Resources provides crucial support to those who truly need help. I love music and helping people, and was instantly excited to participate.
Matt was born and raised in Jeffersonville and is a Jeffersonville High School grad. He attended Indiana University Bloomington and finished his degree at Indiana University Southeast. During the day, Matt is the owner and Principal Broker of the Matt Williams Group Real Estate, and has been a realtor for 22 years. Matt is happily engaged to be married to Kim Garrett, and has two sons, Jay and Charley. When not working, you’ll find him out playing either music or golf. When it comes to music, Matt will tell you that he played French Horn in middle and high school and began playing the guitar when his children were small. He put the guitar down for 11 years, supporting his boys in their sporting activities and then picked it back up and started learning songs he liked and performing locally. When asked about the type of music he likes, he will tell you that he especially enjoys songs that tell a great story and have great Harmony; songs from the Eagles, Crosby Stills & Nash, as well as, Rob Thomas (Matchbox 20) and Darius Rucker (Hootie and the Blowfish).
When asked why he agreed to perform at LifeSpan Resources' Voice and Vino, Matt stated that he was flattered when he was invited, and honored that he could raise money and awareness for what LifeSpan Resources does. “As a guy with aging parents, I know firsthand of the needs people have when they get older, and I am luckier than most because they live close. Many aren’t so lucky. LifeSpan Resources provides crucial support to those who truly need help."
