Fundraising

The Rubin Run is a wonderful opportunity to honor a loved one who has been diagnosed with a developmental disability or autism, to help a family in need who will benefit from the JCC’s amazing programs and services and for people of all ages and abilities to come together and celebrate our differences. By creating a fundraiser, you are helping to fuel the mission of the JCC.

Getting Started

The easiest and fastest way to reach your Rubin Run fundraising goal is by personalizing your easy to use, online fundraising page. The most successful fundraising campaigns are ones where Rubin Run participants have shared pictures and stories on their donation pages. When people see you get excited about your goals, they will be excited to donate. Ask everyone you know including family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, school and religious organizations and more if they will support you in raising funds for the JCC!

What to include on your donation page?

  • Include pictures of yourself or of who is motivating you to run for individuals with disabilities. Pictures make a huge impact on people visiting your donation page. Putting a face to your fundraising efforts can make all the difference.
  • Tell a personal story about why you joined the Rubin Run. Are you running in honor of your son or daughter with autism? Do you work with individuals on the spectrum? Did you want the make your miles meaningful by fundraising for a great cause? We would love to know and so would your supporters!
  • Set a fundraising goal! Challenge yourself and don’t be afraid to be ambitious. Break down the amount to think of it in less daunting terms, such as, a reasonable goal of $2,500 is just 100 donations of $25 or 50 donations of $50. Remember the JCC staff is always available to help you reach any goal.
  • Share some facts about autism and the JCC's Guttenberg Center for Special Services to inform your supporters where their donations are going. Here is an example of what information you could include:
    • 1 in 32 children in NJ are diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. This is the highest rate in the nation. By fundraising for the Rubin Run, you're supporting the JCC's efforts to provide critical resources for children through adults with autism spectrum disorder and intellectual and developmental disabilities as well as much needed respite and support for their families.
