​How to Create a Free STRAVA Account:

The first step to creating a free account is to go to https://www.strava.com or download the app from the AppStore for iPhones or Google Play for Android devices.

  1. Sign up with email and create password 
  2. Create Your Profile: Opt-In or Out of Receiving emails and notifications from Strava 
  3. To SKIP to the free version of STRAVA, tap SKIP on the top right corner of your screen 
  4. You’re ready to log your miles! 
  5. Location access options will appear.
  6. Choose a Sport (for the Rubin Run select Run, Ride or Walk) 
  7. Tap ‘Start” and begin recording your activity.

How to Link STRAVA to your participant page:

Once you’ve completed your registration, you’ll be prompted to set up your participant page. You will then be redirected to "Manage My Page" mode, where you can select from required and optional activities to complete and earn points. 

1A. To link to your STRAVA account prior to May 9th, select COMPLETE ACTIVITIES (also under About > Complete Activities). Then click on the activity you wouldl ike to complete such as a 5K Practice Run.

1B. To link to your STRAVA account beginning on May 9th, select COMPLETE YOUR RACE (also under About > Complete Activities).Then click the event you would like to participate in. Activities in this category will not be available for completion until May 9th. 

2. Once you’ve selected the activity, you will be prompted to link your STRAVA account. Click/tap the orange button “Link my Strava Account” 

3. A window will pop-up asking you to login (or create) a STRAVA account. Log In using your personal credentials. If you’re new to STRAVA, select Sign Up and follow the prompts. 

4. Once you have successfully logged in, you will be asked to authorize OneCause Peer-to-Peer to connect to Strava. Click/tap the orange “Authorize” button. 

5. That’s it! Your account has been connected.

If you decide that STRAVA is not for you. No worries! You can use any run tracking app to keep track of your distance and time, and manually input it onto your participant page.
