2020 Country Focus: Liberia

While (un)adopted® works in many countries around the world, we are highlighting one country in particular for our 2020 R(un) for One event - Liberia

(un)adopted partners with local Liberian ministry, REAP (Restoration of Educational Advancement Program) to equip orphaned and vulnerable children with life skills, job skills, and social skills that will help them as they age out of orphanages and institutions. Twice a year, children/young adults between the ages of 14 and 22 have the opportunity to attend a REAP camp. These camps are focused on teaching employable skills, such as masonry, carpentry, computer sciences, sewing skills, and culinary techniques, to campers as they enter adulthood. Most importantly, however, these camps are platforms to share the gospel and allow campers to be discipled by believers in their local communities.

Your Impact

While Liberia is our focus country for this year's event, 100% of the proceeds will benefit (un)adopted's work around the world. This varies in each of the 16+ countries where (un)adopted serves, but a few things remain priority — making the name of Jesus known and empowering the local church to care for the more than 140 million children that are fatherless.

(un)adopted provides international churches with necessary resources and trainings to minister to the spiritual and physical needs of vulnerable children in their community. By empowering the local church and community to care for the vulnerable, (un)adopted seeks to holistically care for children in their physical, emotional, spiritual and social needs. Through this work, stories are redeemed, lives are transformed, and the gospel is made known.

Thanks to our generous sponsors

Started in 2011, the R(un) for One 5K is a family-friendly annual event where Lifeline Children’s Services' alumni families, friends, advocates and community partners gather together to raise awareness and funding for vulnerable children around the world.

Through (un)adopted®, Lifeline’s international orphan care ministry, vulnerable children are receiving love and care, enrolling in schools, learning life skills and hearing the hope of the gospel. Each year’s run focuses on a different country where (un)adopted serves. This year’s run will highlight the country of Liberia.
