Annual R(un) For One 5K - 2020

We are still r(un)ning for one on August 29th, but it will look a bit different than we had planned. We have been notified that our permit to use Brook Run Park in Dunwoody has been revoked due to COVID. However, we have a plan. We are establishing 3 locations around the state where runners can meet up and run together. Additionally, runners still have the option to R(un) Where You Are. This permits us to spread out a bit more and provide multiple options based on regional needs. Here are the three locations:

1. Dunwoody at Brook Run Park. Even though we cannot have an official event, we can still have an unofficial meet up for anyone in the ATL area who wants to run together.

2. Newnan/Peachtree City area at 504 Clearwater Road, Sharpsburg, GA. This is the private residence of a Lifeline alumni family. They have a large property where they have hosted 5Ks as fundraisers. They have offered their property to be a host site. It is a really long driveway but there will be signs directing people where to go.

3. Athens at Oconne Veterans Park.

Lifeline staff will be at each location, praying with you and cheering you on as you run. Because we are not allowed to have an official "event" at any of these locations, there will not be signage or official timing. Instead, we are encouraging all runners, even R(un) Where You Are participants, to download a free version of the Strava running app to their phone, join the Lifeline Club (found here), and time themselves. The app will automatically report the times to Lifeline and we can determine winners for each category in each state.

So whether you join us at one of our physically distanced locations, or whether you R(un) Where You Are, we look forward to joining in solidarity to raise awareness and funding for our (un)adopted ministry. For the health and safety of all involved, we will not have water stations or snacks for any of the locations, so please make sure to bring your own.
